How We Started

Established in 1851, the Wooster Brush Company is among the initial paint applicator manufacturers in the U.S. Mr. Adam Foss initiated the business after heading from Pennsylvania to Ohio. To start with, he made paint brushes skillfully by hand. The initial operation was in a two-story building in Wooster, Ohio. The paint brushes were then marketed door-to-door all over the state.

By 1909, the Wooster Brush Company acquired the land on Madison Avenue, setting up a new factory. The place ended up being 200-feet long and 70-feet in width.
