For more than 50 years, Alfred Richard produced a selection of quality tools. He made the decision after fifty years to sell his company to the Gregoire and Panfili families. They fully commited to carrying on a family-run corporate operation. In 1942, the A. Richard Company transferred to Berthierville.



A third-generation group of the Panfili and Gregoire families took over in 1997 from the older generations. A. Richard retained more than eighty-five percent of the Canadian hand tool market and joined Hyde Tools, Inc. in 2003.

In 2006, A. Richard acquired Roultech, a paint brush and roller producer and distributor. Roultech’s expertise and A. Richard’s experience with development and promoting and advertising were combined, generating a winning team effective at securing the applicator market.
